What is Citric Acid Monohydrate?
Citric Acid Monohydrate is a Tricarboxylic Acid found in citrus fruits. It is an odourless, white, crystalline substance. Citric acid is used, among other things, as a preservative (E330). It is also used as an excipient in pharmaceutical preparations. Citric acid is also used in etching metals and to rid metal objects of rust. It is also used as an anticoagulant for blood collection.
